Interested in volunteering on the Campus Allotment?

The Campus Allotment is based on Park Campus and we are looking for volunteers to help to support it through planning, planting, harvesting, weeding, composting and generally getting involved in growing food. The vision of the allotment is to produce a veg box, supplying students, staff and local residents with fresh fruit and veg in a sustainable way; reduced transport and production costs, less impact on the land and building a community around the process of growing your own.

Initially we plan to grow fruit and vegetables on our urban site, but we also have some really strong links into the community and farming world and look to develop these over the coming months.  We would like to build these relationships to buy and sell to local farmers and to develop a partnership with the local agricultural college (Moulton College) to support us in being able to deliver on a larger scale.

In previous years the University hosted a successful farmers market, which we would like to resurrect.

WHERE: Behind MX mobile, Park Campus. University of Northampton.

Sign up to volunteer here. There will be one weekly Wednesday afternoon (2-4) volunteering slot until more volunteers get involved.
